This works fine as long as you use a thermostat with it. In fact, I found my temporary gun (highly recommend using one of these to check everything) was initially running a little warmer than the gauge displayed. Once I removed the very inefficient suction cup and taped it near the mat, the problem was resolved. Just keep a close eye on it. One really crappy thing about this rug is the adhesive. It's stuck, I'm not kidding, maybe 10 seconds. The good news is that taking HVAC tape and sticking it back on is very easy and cheap. Just great for the price. I got it working just fine with my ball python case.
