This is a well made santoku knife. It has a full shaft with a triple riveted handle, has a comfortable grip, is well balanced and is a good weight. I bought this as a backup when my trusty Cutco knives were being sent in for sharpening. I'm really impressed with the sharpness and ease of cutting vegetables and meat. One negative I've noticed when slicing or chopping vegetables is that the food tends to stick to the blade a bit (minus one star), an issue I don't have with my Cutco Santoku knife. Although this knife is said to be dishwasher safe to maintain quality and prolong the sharpness of the blade, I recommend hand washing only and drying immediately to avoid water stains. If you are looking for a quality santoku knife at an average price. range that gets the job done easily, then this is a good choice.
