Corded probe makes this thermometer very versatile. The lid on my grill does not need to be opened to take a reading, and the temperature can be read inside the oven without opening the door and losing heat. Reading is fast and only takes a few seconds. The hanging hole is large enough to fit on my grill's dish rack and there is also a bottle opener built into the hole. The temperature accuracy is the same as my old round oven thermometer over the entire range, and the ice water temperature is 32 degrees.
