So far I've used it to drill a lot of pilot holes in a project I'm working on in Spruce. For reviewers trying to use it at low speed, this is a poor low speed drill, but it's a high speed descending drill. It requires significant effort and I wouldn't use it on hardwood. The force creates a bend in the drill bit, and while that can be okay (the company may be using steel that bends rather than breaks), it makes the drill feel brittle. Seems like I'll get the job done, but I'd look for something else in the future.
