Description of πŸ”§ Unleash Efficient Drilling with Drill America Speed Steel Extra

High-speed steel tools are good for most general purpose applications, offering a combination of hardness and toughness for wear resistance. Black oxide treatment adds lubricity and creates small pockets on the surface of the tool that act to hold coolant near the cutting edge. Round shanks allow use with a wide variety of toolholding systems. When run in a counterclockwise direction (right-hand cut) spiral fluted tools evacuate chips up and out of the cut to reduce clogging. For general purpose drilling in applications where extra length for reach is required, designed to perform in a broad range of materials in the iron and steel families.

This exercise worked great!

I was skeptical about this drill as I had never heard of this brand before. It is formed fairly well though and drilled through a solid roller cam which I used to make the lamp. Using any part of the length of the drill bit, I drilled through the cam from both ends. I made a thin mesh before using it because I didn't want my blank to get hard like she tried several times. I would recommend this drill to anyone and would buy it again.

Pros
  • Electric Drill Parts and Accessories
Cons
  • Discontinued

Use it at high speed

So far I've used it to drill a lot of pilot holes in a project I'm working on in Spruce. For reviewers trying to use it at low speed, this is a poor low speed drill, but it's a high speed descending drill. It requires significant effort and I wouldn't use it on hardwood. The force creates a bend in the drill bit, and while that can be okay (the company may be using steel that bends rather than breaks), it makes the drill feel brittle. Seems like I'll get the job done, but I'd look for something

Pros
  • Power and hand tools
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Expensive but worth it if you need to drill deeper than 18 "

I bought this item and its larger 1/2" x 24" sibling a few months ago because I was zinc plating 22 " bolt installed. down through a 23" tall wall of machined 4x6s. So the depth is 21.5" with this bit and 16.5" with the 1/2" bit. I've had a lot of success with them both. Even though the flute is 19" full length (17-3/4" on a 1/2" bit), it's still important to only drive in about 6" at a time before removing the shavings and beat. because compressed wood can only creep upwards. Yes the job was…

Pros
  • Twist Drill Bit
Cons
  • Some small things
