I wanted a unit for a guest bedroom so guests will have plenty of options for charging devices, plugging in a cpap machine, etc. I didn't want a unit that would be flush with the outlets since guests probably wouldn't realize it ws there or, if they did, would have to navigate around the nigthstand to get to the plugs. Having this sit on the nightstand will make it obvious (but the black color is unobtrusive when glancing around the room) and it will be easy to plug things in.The unit has its own on/off switch, 8 outlets (probably overkill for us), 3 usb-a and 1 usb-c outlet. I like the flexibility that I can move this to another room if need be. We may even travel with it particularly since it also has surge protection.all around, a great unit for our purposes.
