The AV device seems to have a lot of connectors. I had 3 power strips plugged in to power everything. That single socket now does everything and I can flip the switch and everything goes offline. There is no constant energy draw that runs 24/7. I learned last year how much energy some items use. I had an old 60 inch Sony TV and Dish Network receiver that I got rid of. The dish receiver and the old Sony deposited about $15 a month into my account and just sat there sipping energy waiting to be used. They're gone, but I've learned to turn something off when not in use, now the extension cord does.
