Review on Eglaf 0.5L Small Electric Kettle - Portable Stainless Steel Travel Kettle - Plastic-Free Water Touch Inner Surface, Cool Touch Outer Surface (Dark Blue) by Paul Milonas

When Bodum made their kettles in Germany, there was no problem delivering the product as stated on the label. Unfortunately, they moved production to China. I suspect the finish is the same as the Kenmore dishwasher I bought a few years ago - same smell. In this case, it rendered the dishwasher useless for me unless I wanted the kitchen to smell like chemistry while using it (which you might associate with an organic chemistry lab, and I've worked in several). On both the Bodum kettle and dishwasher, the coating is probably to prevent rust (I'd prefer rust, thanks - it wipes clean and adds little iron to your diet). In any case, the product does not match the description. This is not a pure stainless steel interior paneling, but a coated stainless steel interior paneling.
