This clock worked for about eight months OK.Pros:As advertised, it is quiet and easy to read.During its lifetime, the accuracy was OK (within a minute or two after 6 months)Cons:After 8 months, the movement just stopped, with the second hand jiggling back and forth and the hour and minute hands paralyzed. Same after replacing the battery. Same after whacking it on the side every which way.The reason for not giving it fewer stars is that I didn't read the instructions to use a "carbon-zinc" battery (who reads instructions, especially for a battery operated clock?). Now as I re-read the ratings and questions, I see that an alkaline battery may damage the clock.Bottom line, read the instructions and this clock may last longer than a year.Can you even buy carbon-zinc batteries anymore?
