This is a quality material and the size is perfect for small tubes, it stretches a bit so you can do 5/8 and maybe 3/4 but I wouldn't too stretch a lot a lot, otherwise you will lose the protective properties. I have used it on my fuel lines going from the fuel pump to the carburetor and on the under hood fuel line to the fuel pump. I hope this can help with steam blocking. I like shrink tips but don't know if they're any better than stainless steel or plastic ties but I've used them and they look good.
