Tiny Little Device

I bought this to make pillow boxes for small candies and nuts for Christmas. I suggest making a sample out of recycled paper first; but it's easy to use, and once you've done the first one, you don't need any further instructions. Finished size is approximately 2 1/2 inches wide, but length will vary. I usually cut with the embossing tool I have, but I actually prefer the scoring tool that comes with the punch card. After making many of these cuts this week, I have three tips: First, be sure to cut the rounded lines completely. This means hitting the small spot next to the pointer with the tip of the scribe tool. Second, before gluing the sides together, work out the curved notched edges with your fingertips and gently pinch to shape. Third, be sure to glue the tongue all the way to the edge, especially on the curved edges. My early ones fell apart before I learned to be liberal with glue. I don't know if I'll have too many calls to make pillow boxes in the future, but it was fun and I used up a lot of old Christmas-themed scrapbooking paper. .
