SETUP IS EASY, but it's important to figure out HOW. First you need to RESET to FACTORY DEFAULTS (hold Set key and type 981). Then unlock the distance so you can set it up for your device (mine was a Motorola DVR). While holding the setup button, enter the UNLOCK code 982. To pair (SET) the remote with my Motorola, I pressed the "cable" button, held down "setup" and then entered 00476 (the code for COMCAST BOX is 01982). I have an old COMCAST .pdf file with device codes. Went to GOOGLE to find out how to wire an old comcast remote and found some helpful information on easypctutorials.com. I like the old remote much more than the new one that Comcast is offering. The old remote is much easier to use (for me and my husband).
