Bought 8 for Thanksgiving - very pleased. Yes, they are a bit stiff but I haven't found a problem with them. Absorbent? So that's enough - resistance to stains? I can't speak to RESISTANCE, but after soaking them in cold water and Oxyclean for a few hours, my granddaughter's raspberry stains are completely gone, they're like new. I ironed them with an ironing cloth, not sure if the gold rim will melt or not - it worked great. The best thing for me is that after washing they have kept their perfect SQUARE shape. I can't tell you how many times I've been disappointed and upset when miscut napkins take on a trapezoidal shape after washing. (WS - take note.). Very happy!
