I am very satisfied with this product. sticks well; it is flexible; It closes the gap between the bottom of the door and the sill well to keep drafts, rain and insects out. If you're interested in reading further, I'll provide more details on what I've dealt with in case anyone else has a similar situation. I keep dogs in my house in addition to my three, and sometimes the dogs are destructive. Not only did I have the moldings around my door, but my styrofoam encased metal door was ripped open by a dog trying to get through while I was outside. The original door brush was actually destroyed prior to this incident and I used a few self-adhesive and screw-on replacements, but that's the first thing dogs seem to notice - the huge 1.5 inch gap between the bottom. door and threshold. I was trying to find a replacement for the U brushes as this is the outside door I mean - my front door - and I don't just want the cover to be outside or inside, I want both. , but I can't find one wide enough and deep enough. When looking for a new door brush when the replacement was last wrecked I stumbled across this one. It sounded good. Flexible, cuttable, adhesive, layered with many advantages... So I bought two with the idea of putting one on the inside and the other on the outside, which I did. Because they are rubber, they are easy to cut. once you figure out the length. And the glue is great. I mindlessly attached the piece to the outside of the door when it was open, thereby determining the height of the fastener where it would meet my carpet, not where it would hit when the door is closed. When I closed the door I realized that it was too high. I didn't listen to the instructions and heated it to loosen the glue grip so I removed a lot of the paint from it. I thought I'd have to throw this strip away but I actually managed to mostly reattach it - that's how good the glue is, even with large chunks of paint stuck to it, I only used a couple of small screws to fasten the pieces together help those who didn't hold on. (The item comes with nails which won't work on a metal door and as the item is rubber you also need to be careful with the screws as they will crack a little but the head will break a little. That's what the screw is itself does, so it wasn't a problem.) I also used the screws inside in a couple of places where I didn't clean the adhesive thoroughly enough from previous door brush applications. Because it is flexible, it will easily bend under/out of the door, although there is about a half inch difference between the sill height and the carpet height. In any case, as I said, I am very satisfied with this product. I can't even think of any design changes, except maybe for folks with steel doors, maybe every few inches or so there could be a small reinforced point through which screws could be drilled if needed. Or customize the design to reinforce the adhesive part to allow the screws to go through so it works well for both wooden and metal doors. But I got it working and am very happy with it and would buy it again. In fact, I can look forward to buying it again given my history with overhanging doors. :-)
