Review on ASUS VA249HE 1080P Monitor: Experience Crisp Visuals and Wide Viewing Angle on a 23.8" Touch Screen Display at 60Hz by Mike Drusky

I am delighted with this monitor. I plugged it in and it worked perfectly straight away. The picture is bright and clear. The colors are strong, not too rich in contrast. Fonts in Word documents and websites are crisp. The resolution and size are perfect for gaming. All the games I've tested it on look fantastic. It comes with 100% brightness which is very bright. I reduced it to 50% and it's perfect for me. It's still brighter and sharper than my laptop. This is the only adjustment I had to make. I chose this monitor because I have a very small workspace and the cables on the back of the monitor point down so I can mount it directly on the wall. I mounted this to the wall with a $4 picture hanging kit from Lowes. This is a great option if you want to save space on your desktop. I couldn't be happier with this purchase. I can recommend this monitor without reservation and would buy it again at any time. For this test I tested the built-in speakers. At full power they're audible and would probably be fine for basic internet use (YouTube videos etc) but I'd consider them bare bones just to save space, not a real alternative to speakers. If you want to listen to music or need quality sound, you still need speakers. But just as a monitor (that's how I use it) this ASUS is excellent. FYI: This monitor comes with 3 cables: VGA, DVI. and 1/8" audio cable. (Even if you don't need speakers, it's nice to have an extra 1/8" audio cable). I chose Revain's free shipping method and received it within 3 days. Great!
