I looked at a lot of arches that had gates. Without the gate this arch is very unstable. With the gate it is ok. It is definitely not a high quality item, but it is also very inexpensive compared to other gates I looked into. You get what you pay for. It serves its purpose as I am just looking to keep my neighbors dog out of my yard with out spending a fortune. I don't know how it will hold up as I just built it, I can say the directions were lacking. It was very confusing to build if one followed the directions. I would say look at the parts and figure it out yourself as I did. I found this was much easier. Also it was VERY hard to use the ground spikes to anchor it. Mine shifts when I open the gate, but like I said it serves the purpose I needed it for.
