Review on Genuine Toyota 17801 0V020 Filter Element by Leo Puente

The filter comes in a genuine Toyota/Lexus parts box with a sticker over the printed part number. The sticker says "Genuine Toyota Air Filter Element (17801-0V020), New". But the part number printed on the filter itself is 17801-YZZ10. Part -0V020 is what I wanted, for an exact replacement of the factory part. Both filters have the same dimensions and 111 pleats in the filter media and can be used interchangeably. Internet says Toyota and Lexus dealers in the US switched from original part -0V020 to part -YZZ10 around 2008. But parts -0V020 are still available. There is some speculation about quality differences; In general, "-YZZ" parts are cheaper (and possibly lower quality) than original parts. The difference is probably more important for some parts than others. Air filter -YZZ10 suits me. But it annoys me that they sent me a different, cheaper part than what I ordered.
