Compact Internals

This is a dual band wireless LAN adapter for PCs with Intel processors. The adapter comes in PCIE format and is only 3 inches long. It fits into a standard PCIE expansion slot on a desktop computer. To use this card, plug it into an expansion slot on your motherboard, connect a Bluetooth data cable to your motherboard, screw in external antennas, and you're done. The card mounts on a full-height metal ATX bracket, but includes a mini-ATX metal bracket and mounting rail replacement hardware. Also included in the box is a mini CD-ROM with drivers and a paper installation guide. If you don't have a driver installation disc, you can download the drivers from the manufacturer's website. Please note that this card will not work on computers with AMD processors. I find this card works great with my new computer. Data transfer is much faster than the older 300Mbps card I tried. I like the small size of the card as it doesn't interfere with airflow in my case. With the antennas set up as directed, I get a solid connection to my Wi-Fi router. Without antennas I don't have much communication at all, so antennas are really needed. Installing this card was easy. All in all, it's a quick and easy way to add a Wi-Fi connection to your Intel-based computer.
