Review on 🚗 Gates 38113 DriveAlign Auto Belt Drive Tensioner by Alan Singh

The pulley on my OEM belt tensioner is metal and has been running great for 13 years (160,000 miles). The pulley that comes with this belt tensioner is made of plastic. A tech tip from the Gates website informs customers about the poor quality of the plastic pulleys and that Gates only sells metal pulleys with their tensioners. especially when their own website says you should only buy metal pulleys and they just ignored my email. Aside from being plastic, the pulley doesn't fit very well. My V-ribbed belt runs at the very edge of the pulley. I am assuming that both the pulley and belt are wearing out prematurely.
