This is a great antenna. It comes with a very long "mini coax" cable with gold plated ends. The length is definitely long enough for you to direct it where you want it. The connector on the antenna comes with a weatherproof rubber boot, and the end that connects to the radio dock has a 90 degree bend to fit properly. I hooked this up temporarily as I don't have a semi-trailer it's installed on. I got him through the door and had no problem. In my case the door seal allows to use this thickness without damaging the cable. I didn't have to buy a "flat" cable to go this route. I immediately had full signal strength and nothing changed at all. At freeway speeds and even on bumpy roads, the antenna didn't move or pick up a signal. I use this with an EZ radio in a portable dock. I can see it could even be a great antenna for a permanent home antenna. If you mount it so that the end of the cable can get into the house without extending the cable that would be ideal. Overall it works great and I can only recommend it.
