Firstly, if you are looking for a rugged safe for storing large items, this safe is not for you. This safe works great as long as you use it as intended. To keep your small valuables relatively safe in a moderately secure environment. Example: Use it on vacation to prevent room service from accidentally "wiping" your wallet or phone. Or if you have small children and want to protect them from medication, phone, etc. Well, if you're planning on attaching this portable safe to a lamppost and storing your Rolex and Bentley keys in it while you head into Central Park, well. You might be disappointed. The safe is heavy and difficult to open. But the case is plastic, so this safe can be cracked open with a crowbar or a hammer. The bottom line is this product is designed for protection and containment, not as an impenetrable vault. If you keep this in mind, you won't be disappointed. I'm glad I bought this safe and feel more secure (no pun intended, well maybe) leaving stuff in my hotel room when I go to the gym or to breakfast.
