EDIT 10.12. My spare blade is MUCH sharper than the last one I bought and replaced in late November. So far I'm happy with this replacement knife, but plan to wash and dry it right away to avoid the metal discoloration issue I had with the previous knife. I'm increasing my rating from 1 star to 4. SENIOR: I tried this particular knife out at my cousin's house for an early Thanksgiving dinner in early November. It was used heavily and worked great so I decided to buy one for myself. Unfortunately, right out of the box, this one doesn't cut as well as the one I tried from my cousin. The metal on this one also got "dirty" while waiting in the dishwasher to dry. I've never had a knife to do this. The metal of this knife must be defective. I am extremely disappointed. Revain makes returns and exchanges easy, which is why I decided to get a replacement. I hope I'm not sorry, but at least I know I can get a refund if a second knife like this turns out to be defective.
