This is the best knife I have ever had. It's strong, sharp and well balanced. Made of high quality metal and beautiful wood to the touch. Keeping it just feels right. Nothing is more annoying than working in the kitchen with a dull, shitty knife. I no longer have this problem. That is amazing.

I finally had to replace the little knife I've had since the 1980's. When I saw that, I knew it was the right thing. He is just wonderful! Sharp, well-weighted handle, blade wide enough to fit my fingers. If I decide to replace my large chef's knife, I will definitely buy another one. The bar knife in my shopping cart is waiting for me.

This knife, made of excellent steel, holds its edge well and is easy to sharpen. It has good balance and weight, but the grip is too flimsy for my hand. All other kitchen knives I own are 3/4" to 7/8" thick. This 1/2 inch is the thickest and is difficult to hold and control. I really like the shape of the knife, its weight, its flexibility, the quality of the steel and it looks good, but once you pick it up the handle ruins it.

The first knife had all four protruding pins on the handle. Sharp and dangerous, which is why I asked for an exchange. The second knife had the same problem as the pins protruded beyond the gripping surface of the handle making it dangerous to use. The blade surface of the second knife was of poor quality, rough and not polished. This knife was to be a gift for my wife and I am very disappointed in this knife and my gift to her.

I bought a 6 inch chef's knife. I like this size as I have small hands and it is easy to work with. And beautiful (who doesn't love a beautiful knife?!) and the price. $30! I would give 4.5 stars. I had previously bought a pair of knives and was impressed with the sharpness and good cut. This knife arrived in very nice packaging, ideal as a gift. The knife is well made and beautiful. It arrived sharp enough but I sharpened it with a Work Sharp Ken Onion sharpener. Now it's breaking like nothing I've ever had. This knife is capable of becoming a sharp cook. EDIT 10.12. My spare blade is MUCH sharper than the last one I bought and replaced in late November. So far I'm happy with this replacement knife, but plan to wash and dry it right away to avoid the metal discoloration issue I had with the previous knife. I'm increasing my rating from 1 star to 4.
