I have had several different types of refillable pods in the past and you always had to use an adapter. These reusable pods allow you to use them like a standard K-Cup. You don't need to remove the liner with the needle at the bottom piercing a hole in the bottom of the K-cups. This little pod has a raised bottom that sits above the needle. So if you have a few coffee drinkers, everyone can just pick up and go. They are slightly larger than regular pods, but you can still place them in the coffee maker's storage base.
