While I don't think I'd hop on this unit to test it, I was able to mount it to my car to set the bike I could put on a bike rack. without stairs. The step is very easy to use as it just snaps onto a metal hook on my car door frame. The nice thing is that I can fit this to my SUV as well as another smaller car. I found that even just standing on it, I didn't feel like I was going to fall or slip. The step itself is small enough that I can fit it almost anywhere in any of my cars. I have used this versus a ladder next to my car and not only have I found it to be much more stable but it also does not scratch my car during use.
