I bought a mechanical caliper brand Matrix a year ago. The brand itself is German (Hamburg), but made, as is usually the case with the instrument, in "almighty" China. The vernier rod was sold in a black plastic case with instructions, the instrument itself was oiled (to preserve the instrument, from possible corrosion) and packed in plastic wrap. For those who are puzzled by the question of what a vernier is, I explain: the principle of measuring the vernier is based on combining the divisions of two exact scales (the base-ruler and the movable frame). There are no bells and whistles in this barbell, "barbell is like a barbell". This measuring tool has jaws on both sides, thanks to which it is possible to measure the internal and external dimensions of parts. On the movable carriage (frame) there is a latch (screw) for clamping it. The caliper has a depth gauge. The measurement accuracy of this tool is 0.02 mm (quite high), the measurement limit is 200 mm (standard). To be honest, I used this tool only twice in a year. In general, it lies in a film (blurred), waiting in the wings. By itself, this caliper is made with high quality, according to the standard, and apparently because of this, it is made without any bells and whistles.
