Review on Norpro 25MM Stainless Steel Scoop - Ideal for .5 Tablespoon Measurement by Sally Davis

As this item was recommended by American Test Kitchen I was really blown away by the product I received. This is the cheapest design possible and broke on first use scooping up cookie dough. This product is made of stamped steel that can at best be described as "poorly and loosely assembled". This is possibly the shittiest thing I've ever bought, the hinge part slips out of position after about 10 balls of cookie dough. I can't imagine how you could scoop ice with it. First, the grip is terrible ergonomics. If you try to scoop something like ice cream, your hand will get very sad very quickly. Second, the mechanism intended to release the contents of the scoop is simply a piece of metal on the handle, bent inward with teeth cut out, "rolling" on the gear with too much play.
