Review on 🌡️ Inkbird IBS-TH1 Plus: Wireless Bluetooth Temperature and Humidity Monitor for Brewing, Meat, Plant, and Cigar Storage by Eric Webb

UPDATE: My apologies to Ink Bird. Today I received a notification that the temperature is too low. So the alarm will send notifications when the app is not open. There must be a delay in sending the alarm this way as it wasn't triggered when I ran the test. The product is reliable, but more detailed documentation on how the installation works and features may be required. ORIGINAL: I use this product to control the temperature of my hot tub when I'm not at home. I wanted the device to send me an alarm when the temperature starts to drop so I can fix it before the pipes freeze etc. There are 2-3 cons to this product. (1) Although advertised with an alarm, the alarm only works when you open the app physically. Who needs an alarm clock now? You can see the temperature in the app. It felt like false advertising to me. I really need to send you a notification, SMS or email WHEN the alarm goes off. (2) The installation instructions were weak when it came to connecting the gateway to other devices. I had a TH1 with a temperature sensor. I found a YouTube video that describes the installation quite well. But I had to look for it. Second, it turns out that the Bluetooth icon on the TH-1 needs to be on in order to log data, and when you do that the light will flash. Although the installation guide says the light should be solid blue once plugged in. (3) I had to figure everything out myself. An email contact for tech support was answered within about 24 hours but they were unaware of the two issues I mentioned. Also, I tried chatting live with tech support via Skype on their website but no one ever responded to the chat request and there was no indication of how long the wait would be expected. They really love good food. However, they need to tweak the functionality and significantly improve their instructions.
