Everyone wants to be a Thermapen, and for good reason: The Thermapen is a fast, accurate, and serious tool that consistently does what it's supposed to do. Its functions are intuitive and useful, making cooking almost a pleasure, or at least painless and enjoyable. This thermometer tries to do what Thermapen does, and it's not bad at it. It reads fairly quickly—not as fast as Thermapen, but faster than other digital readout thermometers in this price range, and the screen is larger and easier to read than others. If you don't want to spend $80-$100 on Thermapen or $35 on Thermopop, this would be a good choice.
