Review on Persil Universal Megaperls Detergent: Superior Cleaning Power for 18 Loads (1.332 Kg) by Milagros Iser

Revainrating 5 out of 5

AFTER ALL! Clean clothes after the FIRST wash! No more sour laundry smells!

This material is amazing. Since having kids, I've been doing MUCH more laundry than I ever hoped for. I've tried pretty much every brand of detergent - from all-purpose to eco-friendly to the hottest/popular to plain baking soda + vinegar. and in various formulations (capsules, powder, gel), and I'll tell you - *any load* laundry: a) was not washed (despite pretreatment); b) not clean *smelt* (sports gear smells MOST sour!); c) came out of the dryer feeling chewy and crispy (sandpaper towels, anyone?); d) faded or pilled heavily after a wash or two. At first I thought the problem was in my washing machine - terrible front loaders! I've had mechanics service it, rebalanced it, changed seals and detergent dispenser and even cleaned it with an enzymatic cleaner. However, the laundry did not look clean. Enter the German version of Persil. I didn't think it was possible to love a product so much. I was so hesitant to spend $30 on a box of laundry detergent, but the chore of doing the laundry sucked my ass. I only need a generous teaspoon per load; not the 1/4 cup I've had to use with other wash/rewash brands, so this should be enough for 44+ loads (in one box). I also save water and electricity because I reduce my car consumption by about half. I use distilled white vinegar instead of fabric softener (it also saves money and also avoids unnecessary slime in my dispenser) and every batch comes out great. The smell can be strong when the laundry comes out of the washing machine, but after drying the clothes don't smell at all. Everything from spandex to pet blankets to stains comes out right: simply clean. It *almost* makes me want to take every single thing out of the closet and wash it again. Nearly.
