Of course you could spend a lot more (hundreds of dollars) on a multi-stage reverse osmosis filtration system. I've considered all my options for low cost systems. Pay particular attention to the cost of replacement filters (they can actually be pleated, and some systems have compact filters that need to be changed frequently). I was struggling with a severe runny nose and was able to install this under the sink in about half an hour. This involved unpacking the filter, reading the instructions, gathering some tools (drill, screwdriver and small wrench), cleaning under the sink and installing. I didn't utter a single swear word during the entire process. This is rare for me and home projects. I recommend using plenty of Teflon tape (supplied) when installing the leads to the filter housing. On the first pass, I had no leaks that could be repaired. As with all filter systems, there is a slight reduction in water flow. maybe 10% I guess. After rinsing out the new filter, I drank my first glass of filtered water. The taste and smell of chlorine disappeared. Gone is the weird "plasticโ taste our water has had for the last few years. It really looks like a glass of pure spring water. no chemicals. not as flat taste as distilled. only the subtle presence of minerals gives a pleasant taste. I hope you enjoy this filter as much as we do. Much luck. For your health!
