Our problem was that we couldn't get the base unit to work at all with the remote control. After several email exchanges with GIWOX customer service, I was sent a new remote control. I am very happy to report that the new remote works as it should! There are now no problems with the original functionality of the device. It's bright and creates a very cool effect. I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because the original remote control was defective and the instructions included with the projector require a lot of work. I will find that the support team solved my problem very well. ******************************* INITIAL VERIFICATION** *************** *************** Bought as a present for my husband. We were so excited to customize it! Then we started to read the "Handbook”. This is not a user manual at all, but a guide on how to download applications to control the projector. Okay, okay, but I want to know what I have to do to make it work. This information is not in the instructions. So we took the first logical action: we connected it. The fan started flashing blue LEDs in sequence. Oh! Good sign here! We then checked that the micro SD card was inserted correctly, put the batteries in the remote and pressed the power button. Logical, right? Nothing has happened. We checked the batteries in the remote control. Batteries are fresh and inserted correctly. We have verified that all required data is present on the micro SD card. We disconnected and reconnected the device and tried again. Nothing yet. Then we did the next logical thing. Change the direction of the remote control to see if it's a sensor problem. From all sides we tried to turn on the device, and NOTHING. I've searched and searched all over the internet for troubleshooting help and NOTHING. I threw away a plastic bar with flashing blue LEDs for more than three hundred dollars as a gift. Oh. Oh. This is utter nonsense. I am beyond annoyed that what should have been a super cool surprise gift for my husband turned into a huge disappointment. I have asked GIWOX for help and will update my review if/when permission is given. Due to the device received, I cannot recommend the purchase of this item.
