Thanks to other great reviews and installation tips I bought this and am delighted. Installation was easy and consider removing the bumper plastic so you don't have to drill near the license plate. Curt comes with a pair of long, stiff wires with coils on one end. Using these "catch wires" unscrew two matching carriage bolts and then put on the silver backing plates (they have a square carriage bolt hole). Two tips that made things easier: Leave an inch or two of fishing wire between the carriage bolt and the base plate to help them slide into the coupler tube. Use two medical pliers to hold the wire while catching the end of the fishing wire. Carefully insert the fishing wire into the tube to allow the base plate to seat and the carriage bolt to engage. See photos. Much luck! Please note that pliers are very narrow, giving you a lot more working space than long-nosed pliers. Believe me! Unless your doctor is watching, bring the tweezers back after degreasing. (that's a joke).
