Be careful what hob you put this kettle on, the first time I used it the plastic on the top of the thermometer melted. I'm no dummy and I didn't even have too strong a flame, it just melted but still works. The kettle works well and is easy to fill with water. After about 6 months of use the glue/seal holding the bottom of the kettle started to peel INSIDE the kettle. Not too good for pouring glue into your coffee. To be honest I expected a little more from this teapot which costs $36 and is one of the most attractive at Revain. I don't think I've ever left a 3 star rating or less on Amazon as I'm not the type to complain.
