Review on Nikon 50mm f/1.8D Lens: Perfect for Nikon DSLR Cameras! by Junseo Siu ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Expectations were not met, average quality.

I am disappointed with the purchase. I read laudatory reviews, bought for the D5000. I didn't like the lens. Yes, inexpensive, but Canon has such a lens a thousand cheaper. I don’t like the picture, it’s harsh and the bokeh is prickly. He didn't stick with me. But from Jupiter 37A - he wrote a month with boiling water. Although it is completely manual on my carcass, and it is difficult to sharpen it, the pleasure from the results is worth it.

Pros
  • Advantages? Well, they will probably be written in other comments. For me, the only advantage is its light weight and compactness.
Cons
  • Build quality is a piece of Chinese plastic. Two things I didn't like the most - 1. A noticeable backlash when focusing. 2. A noticeable force that needs to be applied to the aiming ring in order to move it from its place. Constantly there is a desire to lubricate this hellish lens. Unpleasant to hold. And yes . I also constantly catch unpleasant brown glare on it from the sun or lanterns.
