After reading conflicting reviews about this product and the competitors' products, I settled on this company's 6 inch metal wire brush. I used it for the first time about a week ago and it worked great. After attaching the recommended extensions, I slid the brush down the pipe from the roof. I pushed straight down with medium pressure until I felt resistance where the pipe bends towards the stove. Apply additional pressure to erase the curve. The brush got stuck, but with a sharp tug it came free and I was able to pull it back up and out of the chimney. I checked the inside of the oven and there was a lot of soot waiting for me. Removed all soot and returned to the roof for another application. I checked that all the bars were tight and then followed the same method as in the previous step. I checked the inside of the oven and the amount of soot was much less. I cleaned the stove and started the fire after cleaning all the tools. The pipe thrust was much stronger. A straight up and down process is all that is needed when using this tool. I would recommend this product to anyone who has a wood or pellet stove. Bought for a cleaning.
