It is said that the plexiglass cover should not be used to stabilize the wood because the resin will stain the surface of the plexiglass, but the real problem is that it takes a very long time for the wood to finish degassing , the Plexiglas does not withstand a longer load. Mine broke after 2 1/2 hours of first use. You need to buy a 3/4 inch diameter glass lid which is much more expensive. Just buy a degassing chamber to stabilize wood. I tried to save some money but it ended up costing a lot more. Keep in mind. , Gauge thread connections are metric.
