I thought I'd try to win the Darwin Award today. I cut the +/- wires and crimp some connectors, connect them to a 12v battery to test the fan's performance. I highly recommend not turning on this fan unless it is installed or you at least have a fan guard installed. Everything was fine until I had to unplug the connectors and I didn't have enough hands to do that. I put a fan on the counter and this fan definitely won't stay in place when you let go of it. Now I have two broken fan blades and two cut fingers. All I can say is that this fan pushes a lot of air, unfortunately I only had it for about an hour before it broke. You can stop laughing now!
