Review on 7Artisans Aperture Mirrorless Cameras Panasonic by Jeremy Tyson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

That costs more than double!

Two things immediately struck me when I took the first few shots, namely: 1. The depth of field is very shallow for close-ups &2. The center of the image is very sharp even at f/0.95, which in itself is excellent value for money. And yes, it's all handmade. No electronic communication with your camera, no auto focus or stabilization. And if rimless sharpness is your goal, look elsewhere. However, if your focus is on creative compositions with excellent subject separation, then this is the lens for you. For portraits, this lens is great for capturing skin tones. And the overall IQ reminds me of much more expensive cinema lenses. Also very nice bokeh. And it's a great low-light lens, especially if you're shooting with an MFT. When you're shooting video, you crave focus. (CHANGE update). If we take a look at the pixels, there is chromatic aberration in very high dynamic range conditions from f/0.95 to f/4, but this is easily handled in Resolve and Lightroom. At least in my real life experience. However, for the price alone, this lens is a good buy and offers a lot of creative possibilities. Therefore we can highly recommend this lens.
