When our office switched to work from home during COVID-19, I bought these adapters for my colleagues to use their old monitors as a second screen on theirs laptops (they used desktops with two screens). These adapters meet the requirements and work as intended. The only thing to note is that the button to release the locking pins requires considerable force, and if you don't pull the pins out before removing you could damage the connector inside the laptop (bad news - I've seen what happened to another employee). If the adapter does not pull out easily, use pliers to press the eject button.
