The first one I used was fantastic. I've used it for probably 100-150 spot welds and 5 sides of double end cutters. However, I filed the back of the tool so that it had 6 sides instead of 3 so it would fit in a standard 1/4" hex extension for hard-to-reach places (Blair, it should be 6-sided by default). The first tool was bought some time ago. And the center punch eventually broke off inside and fired. I took the center punch, put it back in the tool and continued working (it worked, but it would have shot if I'd punched both sheet metal parts). I ended up losing my grain so I opened my second tooling order with Revain about last month. I drilled a spot weld and then realized I couldn't stay centered. Center punch about 5mm below the back of the tool like the 1st tool (tension sweet spot I found) and try again. Walked a bit again. I looked and the center stamp was completely rounded! softer! :( I couldn't believe they lowered the quality of such a great tool. Now I had to use a punch to find the ENT Spot Welding Center but still had problems. Luckily I was almost done with my project but I was very disappointed. Blair sells replacement punch tips but that's almost the cost of the tool for a 3 pack and I don't think the quality will be the same as the original. Maybe this was the only tool I had got.(It was abruptly taken out of the packaging) sigh.
