I will never bake bread, dough or anything that needs to be rolled or kneaded without this mat ever again. I bake braided bread as a Christmas present every year. It's quite a fun thing - I've got a week off and I'm baking and baking and baking. This year I've been trying to make cleaning and such a little easier so I bought two of these so I don't have to use a tiled counter which is sometimes difficult to sterilize and clean afterwards. So glad I did! This not only made cleaning easier, I also liked it. "Grabs" the dough, so I need a lot less flour when rolling out so it doesn't stick to the rolling pin. I don't know if all baking mats are like this but this one worked like a charm. I've also made flatbreads simply because I had a mat to grip the dough and didn't feel as clumsy trying to control the rolling process. In any case. It's big, nice and big and I'm very happy with the quality of the rug. I cut the Christmas bread dough with a pizza cutter and it didn't even leave a mark. The instructions say not to use a knife, so I probably wouldn't do it, but he handled the pizza cutter like a pro. I actually bought two of these and think they will last me for many years - and I already use them quite a bit. Now I'm going to make pie shells from scratch and other things I wouldn't try because I'm having a hard time with the dough. I will be buying one for my family members as a gift because I know they will love it as much as I do (shhh, don't tell them it's a surprise). Excellent purchase. Highly recommended.
