Review on 🧲 4 Pieces of Replacement Push-On Alligator Clips for Multimeter Test Leads by Victor Pinckney

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Cheaply made, poorly attached

See attached picture, I think it speaks for itself. Black Fluke right alligator clip with matching socket. They are on the left, with a broken crimp connection. This type of test lead alligator clip is designed to attach to a standard needle probe, pointed type with a small retaining ring near the tip to secure it. These cheap fakes don't work that way. It's very clear what they did here; They use a standard alligator clip designed for crimping onto bare wire. You broke the crimp end of the wire FAST closed so you can just tuck the wire in. It holds, but after putting it on and taking it off a few times, it comes loose as the tabs on the crimp connector open. The sheath is also very thin and I have no doubt that it will melt when heated on it, unlike OEM Fluke units which are thick silicone and don't melt. I give these two stars for "value for money". by price range. If you're the type who intends to wear alligator clips and leave them there forever and only use the meter around the house occasionally, they may serve you well. If you're a pro I'd skip it all together; OEM Fluke units are worth the extra cost. I figured I would get a bargain price given the nature of the item; Even good flukes break in me when folded in a pocket and repeatedly straightened. However, they have an entirely different problem and aren't worth the savings associated with a bad connection.
