I have heard many complaints about stationary winches. Weathering is definitely an issue. Using a receiver mount means you don't have to leave any accessories outside in inclement weather. My winch sits in the bed of my truck until I want to use it. Plus a great strategy to install a winch in the rear receiver if needed. The front receiver also makes it much easier to maneuver the trailer in hard-to-reach places. Any accessory that connects to a 2" receiver can be used on the back or front of a truck. I am very happy with this front linkage.
