I don't know exactly how but what I do know is that this device helps me fall asleep. If you have trouble with the sound while sleeping, it's not quiet, but it's not loud either. There is a backlight that could have been left out, but I just taped it with electrical tape. My room smells fresh and my allergies are so much better! I would love to have it in every branch in my house!
