I would return them if I didn't put a lot of effort into making them work. I washed them separately from other laundry before use. When I did that, they came out of the washing machine all messed up. They had threads and villi. Before I put them in the dryer, I had to remove everything I could from each of the rags. I bought another set so I had to remove 16 rags before putting them in the dryer. When removing them from the dryer, each of them also had to be cleaned of fluff. I didn't rate the absorbency as I haven't used it yet. Some of them look like I've had them for years after the first wash. These are the worst dish towels I have ever owned and I have been buying dish towels for 42 years of my marriage.
