Excellent helmet!: Helmets

There are many reviews for this helmet so I'll stick with what I found. I carry a large one in every Shoei helmet I own. This one is no exception, although as my first full face I found it to be really snug fitting. Remember, not uncomfortable, but cozy. It's a bit of a process to get it back, not problematic in any way, but a process nonetheless. I believe the field of vision is no less than any open shoe I've ever had. The lowered visor noticeably reduces noise, but in warm / hot weather, e.g. B. over 80 degrees, it makes the helmet warmer. I usually wear a helmet cap under my helmet to wick sweat and that helps. The ventilation is of course sufficient, but the matter is not limited to the air conditioning. I tried the chin guard and found that when I took the helmet off it wanted to hang over my nose so I took it off completely. Others may have different experiences. Installing my intercom headset was a bit tricky. I have a GL 1800 and use my existing motorcycle intercom. The cutouts in the helmet seem a bit small for the speakers that come with the IMC Motocom intercom system I use. When I first installed the speakers in the holes, they pressed against my ears, and I think that's due to the helmet's tight fit. I got around this problem by cutting the round self-adhesive velcro strips for the speakers and making smaller pieces that I could fit into the cutouts and press the speakers into the cutouts. This maneuver helped and actually solved the problem of the speakers pressing on the ears. The new bluetooth communication settings may have a smaller speaker that fits in those cutouts in the helmet so you may not have the problem I had. The Pinlock anti-fog panel comes with the helmet and prevents fogging in cold weather. The Shoei RF-1400 is expensive, but I feel more confident up front, in comfort, fit and finish. Good luck and no regrets!
