Review on 🚴 Saris Stackable Climbing Blocks: Enhance Your Indoor Bike Training Experience by Vedavyas Fleming

A good block to level the bike, but is it really necessary?

I purchased this item to complement the CycleOps Wind Trainer I have on the first floor of my home. When my bike is placed on the wind trainer, the front end points down slightly. The CycleOps stackable climbing block is a very handy way to level or tilt your bike. You get one block, which is probably fine for most people. If you just want to level your bike, one will do. The block has several different grooves, which allows you to choose different heights. I chose one that puts my bike on a very slight incline. If you need more tilt, you can buy another block and put it on top of the first - hence the "stackable" in its name. The stackable CycleOps unit is made of durable plastic. The lower part of the block just rests on the ground. If you're a very aggressive rider and you're using it on a hard floor, you can put it on a rubber pad or mat to keep it from moving. I do this and it works great. If you have carpet, you're done. Just buy this block and put it on your carpet. As others have pointed out, you can just as easily make something to put your front wheel on. A rolled-up rug, stack of books, stack of papers, or magazines will probably do the trick. I chose the stackable CycleOps block to complete the CycleOps setup and provide a permanent alternate height setup. If you buy it, note that this block is much larger than it appears in the picture. When I unpacked it, I was surprised at how big it is. It should be a bit big to accommodate different wheel sizes. If you don't mind spending money on such an item, I would recommend it. If money is tight or you just don't like the idea of buying something you can probably live without, then I would recommend improvising and building your own stand.
