While it technically fits between MSI GS65, the lid latch is not perfect, it doesn't let the lid close 100%, you can also feel have found that the magnetic seal between the palm rest and the lid is weaker when the mouse pad is in between. You can leave it between them and carry your device; I prefer to play it safe though, I think this will cause unnecessary stress in the center of the screen and possibly some sag in areas that don't touch between the screen and the mouse pad. Plus it's a comfortable interface, no tracking issues on my Logitech Anywhere MX 2S, ultra-portable. Very satisfied, very approachable, only misled by claims that it fits between keyboard and screen considering it's probably my fault for not taking the time to measure the gap on my laptop.
