Ideal for 2007 XC90. It should be noted that the activated carbon filters are thicker than the paper filters from Volvo. The XC90 supports both. The slot closest to the inside of the booth is the thinner slot for the paper type. The slot closest to the engine is the thicker spot for the charcoal filters. That's why the coverage is so big (if you put your head under the dash you'll see two slots (I've done this on several Volvos over the years). Choose the slot depending on your filter, both will work. This is the one thicker filter and it should fit in the slot closest to the motor.Remember that the airflow is towards the motor (if you put it backwards the top corner piece will not fit in properly.) It also has slots on the left side and right sides which is great (mann's is too), it allows you to fold the filter when you insert it, follows the firewall (where the bottom ends up), when you insert it it's very easy to install (other brands don't have those cutouts on the outer side frame) I like this one better than the Mann filter as it actually has a molded top and bottom, the Mann filter has a piece of foam on top to accommodate taking up extra space instead of breathing in air fan running through the foam over time eni / heat deteriorates and breaks down. In the future I will get a Mahle filter (compared to Mann)
